Two years ago today...

An occasion of national shame.

You're absolutely right. You should right a blog post about how you personally helped in the aftermath of Katrina. Or are you one of those people who expect the government to do everything so you don't have to?

Actually, I did contribute a little money for disaster relief. And, yes, I am one of those people who think government has some responsibility in matters like this. But, no, I won't "right" the blog post you requested, and I won't "write" one either.

This review seems balanced: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2006/05/katrina_what_the_media_missed.html

The real failure during Katrina seems to have been on the part of the media.

Hey, the failures of the media during Katrina were even worse and more numerous than recounted in the piece to which you linked. I said so at the time. But, as with the myriad government agencies, some of the media performed well and some didn't. The media (which is a Latin plural word, but too often is used as a singular) are not a monolith. They are countless individual entities operating independently of one another in most cases (although there are times when many of them act like a herd.) On almost any subject you can name, I'm a harsh critic of the media.
