Bush's bogus case for war with Iran

Ray McGovern, a retired CIA officer and now an executive with a church-affiliated publishing venture, warns that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are hell-bent for war against Iran.

Rascal, this is scary stuff. There's no question Iran is a dangerous country that the U.S. must be very careful in dealing with. But that's just the point. Being careful means not going off half-cocked and provoking war. Once again the politics of fear and arrogance are trotted out by the Bush administration. By the way, whatever happened to Condolezzi Rice? We hear next to nothing from our Secretary of State.

Coincidentally, The New York Times has a story today on how Condi Rice's star has waned and how she's trying to salvage her legacy in the waning months of the Bush administration. Not much chance of that, I figure. Any chance she had at becoming our first black or woman president is out the window.
