WaPo says immigration bill might pass

The Washington Post reports today that prospects for congressional approval of legislation on immigration reform have improved, especially in light of polls showing majority public support for the bill's principal provisions.

The Rascal's not so sure. It's not that I have a more sensitive finger on the political pulse of the American public. It's just an acknowledgement that passions can ebb and flow and that an issue as emotional as this one can produce unpredictable results.

Another factor to consider is whether other events dominate public attention or influence the mood of the country at the same time that lawmakers are voting on the immigration bill.

I don't mean to be a weenie about this, but I wouldn't bet on the matter one way or the other.

UPDATE: And then there's this.
