Limbaugh et al spread lie about General Giap

For more than a decade now, the pseudo-patriots among us have been peddling a false quotation from a non-existent book said to have been written by former North Vietnamese Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap.

The bogus claim is that Giap said America lost the Vietnam War because of its biased domestic media.

The quotation has been thoroughly debunked, but that hasn't stopped Rush Limbaugh from trotting it out again as recently as earlier this month, which will only give it new life among the booboisie.

POSTSCRIPT: This matter reminds me of the fake Lincoln quotation used earlier this year by right-wingers all across the fruited plain to impugn the patriotism of those in Congress who dared to dissent against our glorious war in Iraq.

The worst thing about this is the continuing revisionist history of the Vietnam War being propogated by the right. Anyone who was around during that war and is honest about it knows the media completely blew the story for several years. It was only after the public turned against it, when the draft began taking the sons of middle and upper-middle class families that the media caught on to the government lies. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
Also Rascal, why is there an ad for Mike Huckabee on this post?

I don't see any ad for Mike Huckabee. I checked both links in this piece, and they're proper.

Wait a minute. Maybe you were referring to a Huckabee ad in the right-hand column on this site. Or were you referring to the Huckabee TV spot I ran a few days ago?
