Keeping up can bring you down


There's lots of information available to us in this marvelous age of ubiquitous media, but too much of it is depressing information.

Is she serious? If she is, then how about growing up. By its nature, the news is about the unusual and it's a good thing that the unusual tends to be negative things. No one is asking her to fix everything. But the only way we can make any progress is to know about the problems. On balance, the world is a much better place to live in today than it was 50, 100, 500 or 1000 years ago. You can have the "good old days". Just because we have access to so much more information today doesn't mean things are getting worse.
