What kind of weird father would drag his daughter to a formal dance and have her make a public vow that she won't have sex before marriage? And offer his own public vow to do what it takes to make sure she keeps hers?

Goat: A virginity pledge is fine with me, but not at the kind of public gathering described in the article to which I linked, and not in a ceremony where the pledge is made to dad.
I'm with the Rascal -- that's just plain creepy!
Morals should never be displayed in public. Next thing you know their going to start setting a good example for kids. How dare they.
